The Morrigan. The Great Goddess. War goddess. Triple goddess. Liminal goddess. Transporter between life and death. Protector of the land. Protector of women.

The fifth chakra represents the right to speak and be heard. When we can speak without fear and listen with empathy, we align with the divine, allowing us to communicate from a divine place and live authentically.
I have a personal predilection for associating The Morrigan with the fifth chakra. The Morrigan announces herself on the battlefield by howling or shrieking. Too often, as women, we do not announce ourselves by expressing our authentic selves. Societal conformities demand that we fit within the narrow definition allowed us. We are told that if we are our authentic selves we are somehow wrong or “too much.”
I often incorporate messages early on in my paintings and then continue with the work without consideration to preserve the words. The messages included are:
My howl is deadly
I am the bringer of fate
I am eternal
I have risen
I am retribution
I am creation
I am death
I will unmake you
I cannot be bound – or silenced – or shamed
Thru me is the blood of humanity
My life – my choices
I am steel resolve
I am a divine channel
Rise before me and proclaim yourself
I am coming for you
